One of the world's anticipated cycling events comes again right infront of Mama's!! This time its Stage 6 where riders ride from Shah Alam towards Genting Highlands and for nearly every year they crown king of the hills after the riders climb up Genting Highlands. However, last year they took another route & did not reach infront of Mama's.
Since its just right infront of the house, and for the second time in my life; I did not let go of this opportunity to let loose some of the shutter counts that I long for panning at low speeds. Though just recovered from a week of asthma (that actually disturbed with my panning) I still placed myself under the hot sun. Lucky enough this year, I had a friend who was one of the official photographers for LTDL updating me on their where abouts so I do not have to wait long under the hot sun. You can search his photos on facebook or crayonphoto.com
Since this time the route was from Greenwood towards the old road to Genting (a favourite road for enthusiats alike to train too!!), I took the opportunity to get shots from a corner with my son handling my phone to get video footage (and yes that's me lying down, and yes these photos are from the phone… LOL) of the event. Nicely though, of all the whole Gombak, no one planted themselves at where I was for a real close up of the event. LOL
I got the best spot & it was easy to move around. ROTFLOL (literally!!)
Had a friend who tagged along with me this time around. He was fortunate to get two different angles as unlike 2 years ago, this time around there were 2 groups where one consists of sprinters (which faced a sprint stage before reaching the corner) & a few minutes later came the rest of the pack.
(Sprinters coming in)
(2nd group of riders coming in)
Shooting the LTDL this time around, I managed to see how enthusiasts these days clearly did not make any research on the events before shooting. Sad though as some of them clearly had better gear than me but none had that eye/view as there were only just the four of us at the corner (my sister whom was babysitting my son off traffic). None were bravely to burn under the sun or be as near to possible for the best possible shots. Yeah it was 1.5 hour for 10 minutes of fun but it was worth it. LOL
In hopes they'll come again next year.
Signing off
